Memorial Day celebrations used to stress me out. I think mostly because I usually would sign up for making some crazy side dish or dessert I needed to go to another country to get the ingredients for it. Most of my morning or night before was spent in the kitchen, making some gourmet concoction that would sit in the sun with the rest of the typical looking dishes that were usually devoured in 5 minutes. Mine sits. But I digress.

This year, I signed up for only easy things to do, and I could truly focus on the important stuff… what to wear. Obviously, you all know where I ended up… ANTHEM style + gift… my go-to. This trip down to the store was so fun. I had such a hard time choosing what I wanted for my weekend activities. I ended up with basics with a twist, which is perfect
for a repeat outfit for 4 th of July might I add… and any other BBQ event in the summer because… ‘Merica? Am I right??

So down to the details: Saturday. BBQ at a friends house… people I haven’t seen in years… comfort, always a priority. So I ended up with a navy and red plaid flannel by Jachs New York.. which isn’t too “flannel-y”.. Lightweight enough to wear when the sun goes down.. paired with a seriously patriotic “Born in the USA” tank by PPLA. Love this tank SO SO SO much. It’s so soft and breezy. It’s even more perfect for wearing it over a bathing suit later in the season.

And finally, you really can’t BBQ without cutoffs so I ended up with a really cute distressed pair of BLANK NYC jean shorts. This one is a given.. they’ll go with basically every tank, tee, and bikini top under the sun the entire summer.

On to accessories… sunglasses… always a must when I stop into ANTHEM style + gift. Cori stocks THE BEST sunglasses. I am so obsessed with these clear-framed ones by Quay Australia. I always get nervous venturing out with things near my face or on my head, but these are super flattering and comfortable. Best part is they don’t snag in your hair when you place them on the top of your head. You guys feel me?! I can’t stand that!!

And last, my favorite, this really fun, silver head wrap by ban.do, that isn’t quite a head band, or a turban.. but like the two came together and had a baby… does that make sense? It has a wire in it so you can manipulate it the way you want for your head and hair. I love how versatile it is. And bonus.. if you’re traveling, you can even tie it to your suitcase or bag so it’s easily noticeable!

Ahh! Almost forgot! I needed a bag for ALL THE ITEMS. Moms.. you know what I mean… towels, bathing suits, sun screen, toys, husbands stuff, your stuff, a first aid kit, a flashlight, a snow suit… the list could go on and on. This bag literally could hold all of it and still feel like you’re holding nothing.. it’s awesome and Baggu makes all types of great bags.. not just big mom totes!

Sunday and Monday I plan on recovering and grilling at home with the fam so I kept it simple and got a really cute American Flag pocket tee also by PPLA. Same deal, breezy, soft, lightweight. Love it.
